My sculpture engages some of the ironies found in contemporary material culture's uneasy relationship with the natural world. My current work draws from material traditions in furniture and architecture to delve into areas of conflict between nature, and human industry and commerce.
I use sculpture to work through these ideas because I am interested in engaging my viewers in ways that only sculpture can, activating their perceptions and renewing their connection to their physical selves.
